How long does a cleaning take?
For your first dental hygiene visit we like to allow 75 minutes to adequately assess your teeth and gum tissue as well as provide an oral cancer screening with advanced technology and if necessary review the bacteria below your gumline with the use of a microscope. We also like to allow sufficient time for you to learn how to improve your oral health so that you may enjoy overall health. After reviewing your medical history with you, customized treatment procedures may be recommended.
Subsequent visits vary depending on your ongoing needs and areas of concern.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
That all depends on the individual and their commitment with our recommended home care. Everyone is unique as well as your specific situation. Some clients come regularly every 3 months if their bacteria is damaging to their overall health while others do not need to come in more than every 9 months to a year. At Kingston Dental Hygiene we work with you and your specific needs to aid in your optimal oral health so that you may enjoy overall health.
Do you take xrays?
At this time independent dental hygienists are not legislated to take dental radiographs but the dentists that we team with forward copies of your xrays as well as treatment recommendations to us to further enhance your dental hygiene care.
